Naturely CBD Store Opens in Zionsville
July 2019
Writer // Janelle Morrison Photography // Laura ArickAre you interested in learning about cannabidiol (CBD) products, the vast array of benefits and how to purchase quality products locally? Good news! Naturely CBD opened its Zionsville location last month.
Those interested in being better educated on the topic or who are already consumers of CBD can visit Naturely CBD seven days a week and are guaranteed a high level of customer service and product knowledge when they walk in the door.

Naturely CBD Store Experience
Naturely CBD president, Michael Parson, shared why his store is different from other CBD stores in the greater Indianapolis area. His store is unique not only because of the quality of products that he sells but also because of the entire customer experience and aesthetics of the store. No patchouli aromas filling the air and tie-dye-clad salespeople at Naturely CBD.
Parson’s location offers a wellness and clinical atmosphere with educational materials donning the walls, organized display cases that show off the myriad of products in an impressive yet sensible order and flat screens that detail a variety of products and prices to eliminate the “how much is it?” game.
Customers are greeted as they walk in the door by Parson or by a member of his highly trained team with the first priority being to educate their customers and not to hustle them into a sale of something they may know little to nothing about.
“Our goal is to educate and provide quality organic-sourced CBD products,” Parson said. “We’ve got a lot of people from Zionsville, West Carmel and the surrounding area who are coming in and have been buying CBD at a local market or grocery store. They tell us about how they have to ask a store representative to remove the CBD product from a case and walk it up to the cash register, not to mention having to drive farther out of their way, so we want to provide a better learning and buying experience for them.”
Parson’s background as a consultant for toxicology lab information systems, as well as his own personal experiences with CBD, drew him to open the store and also to educate people about CBD and help to improve the lives of his customers, including his canine customers.
Naturely Carries Impressive Selection of High-Quality CBD Products For You and Your Pet
Naturely CBD carries an ample selection of THC-free products, as well as full- and broad-spectrum CBD oils, topical treatments and other products, including beauty and health care products for men and women.
All of the products and brands sold from Naturely CBD comply with Indian state labeling requirements.

They contain QR codes that point to a website with Certificates of Analysis of purity, content, and concentration for all products, produced by an independent third party laboratory.
“During our research in deciding what products we wanted to carry, we found brands that are entirely part of the process from farm to shelf,” Parson explained. “These brands are engaged in the growing cycle, whether they’re licensed farms or their own farms, and they are part of the extraction cycle, manufacturing cycle, all the way to the time it hits our shelves.”
Brands such as Elixinol, CBD Distillery, Panacea Life Sciences and Koi CBD each have their own niche, from full- to broad-spectrum, THC-free and water-soluble products, and they all can be purchased at Naturely CBD.
What Is the Difference Between Full-Spectrum and Broad-Spectrum CBD?
The basic difference between a full-spectrum and broad-spectrum product is that full-spectrum offers all of the cannabinoids from the hemp plant to ensure you get the maximum health benefits. Full-spectrum CBD is full of all the terpenes, cannabinoids, flavonoids and fatty acids found in hemp, all of which have therapeutic value of their own and help create what’s known as the entourage effect.
CBD isolate is 99.9% pure CBD. During the CBD isolate extraction process, everything contained in the plant matter is removed, including any traces of THC, terpenes, waxes, oils and chlorophyll. When all of these elements, excluding the THC, are infused back into the CBD, it is defined as broad-spectrum CBD. Broad-spectrum CBD is an excellent choice for individuals who can’t have any traces of THC in their system, whether for legal purposes, passing a drug test or any other reason.
“Customers ask me many questions, and one of the more common questions is whether or not CBD—specifically, full spectrum—will show up on a test,” Parson explained. “If your employer or occupation has a zero THC requirement, then I encourage you to go with a THC-free product.”
Parson explained that he will spend as much time with each customer as necessary to learn about why he or she is interested in using CBD, such as what ailments they have, and will take the time to explain how to use the products that are the best fit for that person’s situation.
“When you walk into our store, I want people to understand why these products are here,” he said. “These products are not only here to create a profit. They’re quality products that we’ve taken the time to educate ourselves on and have made sure that they’re the best we could put on these shelves. There are other brands and products out there, and in time, we will vet those. The brands that we’ve selected have been selected because we visited the companies, physically talked with the owners and reps and deal with them directly.”
While these claims have not been evaluated by the Food and Drug Administration, many CBD consumers, including licensed medical professionals, have written testimonials about how CBD is being used to manage anxiety, depression, PTSD, sleep disorders, migraines, skin issues and acne, body aches and pains, diabetes, Alzheimer’s, seizure disorders, cancer, Crohn’s Disease, Huntington’s Disease, Parkinson’s Disease and multiple sclerosis. Individuals and medical professionals are continually documenting additional conditions that CBD seems to help manage.
What Is the Best Delivery Method for CBD?
While vaping is the quickest delivery method for CBD, Parson emphasized that his store is not a “vape” shop. They sell a single vape line to fill the demand of the customer who wants instantaneous CBD—a single-use cartridge—and they do not sell the batteries, chargers or other accessories used for vaping.
The second-fastest delivery method is water-soluble products taken sublingually (under the tongue). Consumers will notice that the dosage is less and the price is typically a little more for the water-soluble products because the process is more involved. The amount of CBD is less because of the bioavailability of water-soluble products. In essence, you don’t need as many milligrams as found in a tincture product because it is absorbed more quickly.
“With each delivery [method], there should be a different expectation of when you start to feel the effect,” Parson shared. “For example, CBD capsules have to go through the digestive system, and it takes a little longer to realize the full effect. The same can be said for [CBD] gummies. CBD in water-soluble products is faster absorbing and has better bioavailability, which is why it usually costs a little more.”
For consumers who need an immediate effect, Naturely CBD sells the X-Pen by Elixinol. This delivery offers a number of benefits, including consistent and accurate serving sizes of 15 mg of CBD with each click.
“I haven’t seen anyone else selling the X-Pen locally,” Parson said. “It is the rocket fuel of delivery systems. Each X-Pen dispenses 66 doses of full-spectrum CBD and is ideal for someone with seizure issues. This is the type of product that they’re asking for.”
Naturely Sells More Than Just CBD Oils for You and Your Pet
In addition to the tincture oils (in different flavors), capsules, topical treatments, and THC-free, vegan and animal-cruelty-free beauty care and health care products, Naturely CBD sells many other incredible products, such as their Edibles/gummies and pet products .

With the fireworks season upon us, many animals suffer anxiety just as people can. Parson wants to help the entire family, four-legged members and all.
“Pets are family too, so we want to have something for everyone in the entire family,” Parson said. “From an anxiety level, some of the dogs are already anxiety stricken without fireworks, so imagine when the fireworks start what they are going through. And many dogs have pain from arthritis or other conditions that CBD can help alleviate to make them more at ease and/or comfortable.”
The best of both worlds for consumers of both coffee and CBD is a delightful CBD coffee brand that Naturely CBD sells. It gives you an energetic start to the day without the jitters and high-strung effect from some non-CBD caffeinated brands of coffee. You can pick up other coffee-related items, such as an EZ-Cup 2.0 filter at Naturely CBD that fits in your K-cup coffeemaker. You can also find hemp protein and hemp seeds that are healthy additions to your salads and are an excellent source of daily protein.
Naturely CBD even has CBD mints, but these are not your average breath mints, though they are available in an assortment of delicious flavors. More importantly, these mints are formulated with specific terpene characteristics that make them unique and purposeful. Terpenes are fragrant oils that give cannabis its aromatic diversity. They’re what give blueberry its signature berry smell and lavender its sweet floral aroma. Terpenes are by no means unique to cannabis; they can be found in many other herbs, fruits and plants. Similar to cannabinoids, terpenes bind to receptors in the brain and give rise to various effects.
“The mints are different in how they are formulated,” Parson said. “You get a trifecta of terpenes, herbs and CBD in these mints. These are things that you’re already used to seeing in essential oils and other products, but in the mints, they are being introduced in other ways to enhance the effect of the CBD.”
Take the time to visit Parson at Naturely CBD if for no other reason than an honest and in-depth conversation about CBD and hemp products, specifically the brands that are available at his store.

Q & A
How much CBD should I take sublingually?
It varies by person. Most of our customers start with half a dropper and increase to a full dropper if needed.
How do I store CBD?
It is best to keep CBD stored at room temperature, out of direct sunlight and extreme temperatures. Exposure to heat or cold can cause the CBD to recrystallize. We do not recommend refrigerating or leaving it in your car for a long period of time. When stored properly, CBD has a shelf life of about one year.
Is the milligram of CBD per serving or for the entire bottle?
The milligram listed on the bottle is the amount of CBD for the entire bottle, not per serving.
How often should I use CBD?
Use CBD as needed. Some people use it only once a day, while others use it three times a day.
Will CBD affect my ability to function?
No. Our CBD does not contain any THC, which is the chemical that impairs functionality.
